1) POP some popcorn. You can use microwave popcorn, but it's much better if you have a real
2) Put two brown paper bags together (one inside the other so it's double thick) and fill the inside bag about 1/3 full of popcorn (plain popcorn - no salt or anything on it)
3) DUMP the following into a glass microwavable dish:
1 cup brown sugar
1 stick butter
1/4 cup corn syrup
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
4) Microwave the above ingredients for 1.5 minutes, stir, then microwave it for another minute. Stir it up then ADD:
1/4 teaspoon of baking soda
Stir - then dump the mixture over the popcorn in the paper bag.
5) SHAKE the paper bag with the popcorn in it. Make sure you fold down the top of the bag so you don't have popcorn all over your kitchen. It helps if you sing "Shake it up!" and dance around the kitchen with your kids, but that is not absolutely necessary. Shake the bag for a minute or two.
6) SHOVE the paper bag (with the top still folded over) into your microwave and microwave for 1 minute. Then, take the bag out and shake it for a minute or two again. Make sure to tip the bag and turn it over while you shake it.
7) SHOVE the paper bag into your microwave again and microwave it for one more minute. Then, shake it for a minute. Here come the best part...
8) DUMP the popcorn into a large container. It's HOT, so let it cool.
9) EAT it up. It's really good stuff. (see pictures of kids shoving popcorn into their mouths)
