We recieved one of those musical cards in the mail - you know, the kind that you open up and it starts playing a song. It's Louis Armstrong singing "What A Wonderful World," and my two-year-old daughter just loves the card. I've heard that song many times in the last two days. The funny thing is: she is convinced that the voice singing is her daddy.*
*for those of you who don't know my husband, he is musically-challenged. He has a great appreciation for music, but has very little tune-carrying ability. The fact that my daughter thinks he sings like Louis Armstrong just cracks me up!

Pics
Hairy
Well, my son is now a barber. At least he thought he was this afternoon when he decided to give his sister's hair a little trim.
They were coloring and cutting paper at the kitchen table when I went upstairs to change the baby's diaper. I came back downstairs to some very guilty looking kids. And a big chunk of hair on the table.
Arg.

Birthday Girl
Plus One
We are now a family of five. Pretty crazy. As of right now, I have a three-year-old, a two-year-old, and a one-week-old.
This is a picture of my family (minus me). It was taken right before bath time, so that explains why my daughter is missing some clothes.
The kids seem to be adjusting quite well to having a baby sister. My son thinks she is pretty sweet and says, "I love that little baby." My daughter walks up to her every time she cries and says, "It's okay" over and over again.

Smashed
My daughter got her fingers (pinkie and ring finger of her right hand) smashed in a door - compliments of my son. This warranted a trip to the ER and an exam with X-rays. My brother was with me at the time and drove us to the ER and took my daughter in to the X-ray room and took care of her in there. The X-rays showed a possible small fracture on the very end of her ring finger. If it is a fracture, it will heal up by itself. The thing that the doctor was most concerned about is her fingernail on her ring finger. The fingernail was pulled away from the growth part (I don't remember the medical terms for this) and it might or might not grow back. She might have no fingernail there, or she might - we just have to wait and see. The good thing is that she is young and has a good chance of healing up totally. She has been on a little pain killer (Tylenol) today. She favors that hand and didn't really touch anything with it until this evening (24 hours after the injury). She did start to move her fingers a little bit, which was encouraging to me! I feel so bad for her. She cried for a long time after she got hurt, and she would look at her fingers and say, "I got an owie" and cry some more. Her fingers look nasty! I sure hope they heal up quickly and totally.
